The handsome Indian television actor Siddharth Shukla was arrested Saturday after driving his BMW X5 into three other cars on the road before hitting a divider. The incident happened in Lokhandwala outside the Shreeji Hotel on New Link Road between 5 and 6 Saturday evening. Siddharth 37, was taken to a hospital in Goregaon, Mumbaito be examined by doctors after being booked by the cops. The occupants of the other vehicles have reported injuries, but none seem to be serious in nature.
There is no clear cause yet as to why Siddharth lost control of his vehicle, but he was booked with rash and negligent driving, damaging vehicles, and endangering life or safety of others under the Motor Vehicles Act and the Indian Penal Code. He is to be released on bail after paying a penalty of 5000 rupees.
The incident was originally released on the Lokhandwala Oshiwara Citizen’s Association’s social media Twitter handle where it went viral. The twitter post stated, “Major accident at Shreeji restaurant junction Oshiwara Andheri west. Kindly avoid link road from Adarsh Nagar junction.” It was later shared on other social media platforms such as WhatsApp. The association’s founder Dhaval Shah expressed that Siddharth was traveling away from the Mega Mall and seemed to have lost control of his vehicle. He had hit a pole and collided into a series of cars causing quite a significant accident. Given that the vehicle was of higher quality it seems that it protected Siddharth from attaining any major injuries. At the time of the incident he didn’t look intoxicated, but this can not be concluded until further investigations are conducted.
In November of 2014 Siddharth was in another accident in Mumbai while he was returning home in the afternoon. During this incident he was driving his Mercedes and had rammed into an Indica. The family in the Indica and Siddharth were taken to police station shortly after the incident took place. There were no injuries and no complaints were registered at that time. Siddharth’s statement to the police included the fact that he had felt dizzy behind the wheel before he lost control of the vehicle and the collision occurred.
Again, in January 2015, Siddharth was caught in a driving incident in Juhu, but this time alcohol was involved. The actor was fined 2000 rubies, lost his license, and had his car confiscated by the authorities. The was also ordered to present himself in front of sessions court the next day.
Siddharth is best known for starring in Balika Vadhu but made his acting debut in 2008 on the Sony TV show Babul Ka AangannChooteynaw. His Bollywood debut was in Karan Johar’s “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya.” Siddharth has also done a series of television shows, participated in the celebrity dance reality show JhalakDikhhlaJaa, and won an award for the Breakthrough Supporting Performance Male role in the 2015 Stardust Awards. Given all these accomplishments, Siddharth, according to rumors, was shown the door in Dil Se DilTak due to his unprofessional behavior in 2017.
Shukla has starred in several fictional and reality TV shows since his 2008 debutin Babul Ka AangannChootey Na and has performed in Bollywood films, including Karan Johar’s Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya.Shukla has modeled for several brands and hosts reality competitions. His most recent TV appearance was in Dil Se DilTak, where he was allegedly replaced due to “unprofessional behavior” with multiple co-stars. Reports indicate that Shukla was given the chance to apologize for verbally abusing co-star Kunal Verma, but instead declared that there would be plenty of other producers willing to cast him.
Shukla appears to have a history of misbehavior; he reportedly was late on sets, behaving “bizarrely” and throwing tantrums. Kunal continues to have strong feelings against his ex-co-star, describing Shukla as a “maniac.” He reported that Shukla had abused him for months, hitting and humiliating him in front of cast and crew, and encourages others who may have been abused to come forward rather than allowing the star to get away with his behavior.
Shukla doesn’t deny such allegations; in fact, he detailed several early adulthood misadventures in his book, “Hot Heads and Dash of Hell: The Unconventional Days.”
