Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are one of the hottest couples in the industry right now, and we all love stalking them on Instagram and Twitter to try to find clues as to their relationship status! Recently Ranbir and Alia were spotted spending time at Alia’s house, where he met Alia’s father, Mahesh. Then Alia was spotted heading to Paris, where the Kapoor family was celebrating Neetu’s birthday in style. Her husband Rishi had organized the party in Paris, a sentimental location for the couple since it was the city that made Rishi realize his love for her. Maybe it was the sentimental memories that triggered his longing for his son Ranbir to settle down – but whatever it was that sparked his feelings, he has opened up about wanting Ranbir to get married and have grandkids.
He told Mid Day, “It is high time he got married. I settled down when I was 27, Ranbir is 35. So he should think about marriage. He can marry anyone of his choice; we don’t have any objection to it. I want to spend time with my grandchildren before I am gone.” Although he didn’t name Alia specifically, we all know that she and Neetu seem to have a camaraderie, and have been posting messages on each other’s social media accounts – so it seems as though Ranbir’s family approves of Alia. They seemed a little more skeptical of his ex, Katrina Kaif, who has also dated Salman Khan – but it seems as though Neetu thinks Alia is a keeper. It is Neetu who keeps bringing up the idea of marriage to Ranbir, but he’s been brushing the idea aside.

Alia and Ranbir are currently working on the filming of Brahmastra, where they star alongside each other in the lead roles. There has been a lot of buzz around the film as the result of Alia and Ranbir’s rumored courtship, but it’s likely it would have been a talked about film regardless. Producer Karan Johar revealed that it would be made into a trilogy, with the first film coming out on August 15th, 2019. It will be an action-packed fairytale in a supernatural setting, and apparently, it has required both Alia and Ranbir to be in top shape, to learn things like martial arts and horseback riding. Maybe it’s the prospect of working together for such a long time that’s delaying Ranbir’s decision to marry Alia – after all; it’s a tall order to be newly married to the person you’re working most closely with!
Whatever the reason, it seems as though Ranbir is delaying the idea of marriage for now, in spite of Rishi’s prodding. Rishi does have one granddaughter already, the daughter of Ranbir’s older sister Riddhima, Samara. We’re guessing he loves Samara and is enjoying being a grandfather, and wants the same for Ranbir! Hopefully, he’ll settle down soon. In the meantime, we’re looking forward to seeing him act alongside Alia in Brahmastra next year!
