A recent video that’s been making viral rounds on the internet shows Katrina Kaif’s fans booing her as she steps towards her car from backstage at the Dabangg tour. Katrina has spent the summer performing in the tour in America and Canada, which concluded in Toronto on July 9th. We can only imagine it’s been exhausting, and Katrina sounds like she’s had enough with the demands of touring when she responds to a fan in the video who booed her in Vancouver after the performance.
Kaif, dressed casually in athletic wear, posed for pics amongst a group of fans. In the background, you can hear one of them remark, “We came for Salman Khan. Only Salman Khan,” a cutting jab given how hard Kaif has been working to deliver stellar live performances in multiple cities over the last few months. The video cuts to her walking away, with a fan laughing and calling, “boo” after her. She turned around and said, “You know what guys? You shouldn’t do that,” to which her heckler responded, “No, it’s you – you need a better attitude. You call yourself an actress when people come to meet you, ignore them? You need a better attitude.”
In the video, someone steps between them to try to defuse the situation, and Katrina asks her to calm down. The so-called fan taunts back, “I’m on public property, you can’t tell me to calm down.” Kaif doesn’t respond to this, keeping her cool in what has to be a pretty emotionally charged situation. Ironically, it was Katrina who proved to have the better attitude of the two, taking the high road in an exchange that could have easily escalated.
An onlooker explained the events in more detail after the fact, saying that the girls had approached Katrina for autographs after the show, but she asked her bodyguard to tell them to wait for 15 minutes, so she could rest before jumping in and signing autographs. Flying from city to city often means losing sleep over long periods of time, and Katrina needed a nap to recharge. The girls followed her to the hotel and were rude to her – but she was still gracious to fans, taking 15 minutes to take pictures and sign autographs. This isn’t the first time Katrina Kaif has won over fans – others who have met her have described her as warm and kind.
Now that the Dabangg tour is over, she’s working on Zero, and upcoming romantic drama where she will star alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. Anand L. Rai called the film “a perfect love story of two imperfect people.” But while we know not everybody is perfect, Kaif’s off screen personality could’ve fooled us! We’ve all seen celebrity meltdowns go viral over the internet, but Kaif’s cool demeanor is a refreshing change, and one that proves she’s a class act!
