Amala Paul has already made waves in the South with films such as Amma Kanakku and Mynaa, but her fans will be excited to learn that she’s about to make her debut in Bollywood! The gorgeous young actress has apparently rejected many offers for Bollywood films already, saying that they weren’t for her – one of them had a bikini scene which she wasn’t on board with, for example. But director Naresh Malhotra has finally found a role she’ll take, and we’re excited that she will be making her debut in Bollywood.
She’ll be working alongside Arjun Rampal in the upcoming project, which will apparently be shot in the Himalayas – but that’s all we know for now. Filmmakers are still finalizing the release date of the film, although it’s likely that it will come out sometime in 2019. When talking about accepting the role, Amala says it was “tailor-made for me” and that there was no audition. She was excited to accept his offer and start work on the project, and we couldn’t be more thrilled!
Malhotra has previously directed the romantic movie Ishq Ne Krazy Kiya Re and the TV series Kismat, so we’re interested to know what project he’s working on next! As for Amala, she’s already received critical acclaim for her role in Mynaa, so we’re confident her next performance won’t disappoint! Her selectiveness about accepting roles shows she’s got integrity as an actress, and won’t just take anything that comes her way. The role she’s accepted from Malhotra must be a good one, although we’ll all have to wait to find out the details!
Amala Paul definitely has an arty side, as evidenced by her Instagram that features her poetry. One clue to her upcoming movie might be one of the pics she’s captioned with the words, “An actor prepares” and a short poem: “Leaf by leaf sheds the tree, / An actor prepares with her masks / equivocally. / Mask by mask, you come to know of me, / When there is no mask, / I stand naked among thee!!” In the pic, she’s standing in a field in a blue dress, looking off into the distance with an orange flower in the foreground. It’s a mysterious image and poem, but one that suggests she’s excited about her upcoming work and wants to share her enthusiasm with the rest of the world!
If her past successes in Telugu cinema, including her critically acclaimed performance in Naayak, are any indication, she’ll take Bollywood by storm. Any actress with as much skill as Amala would be as thrilled as she is to accept a role tailor-made for her, and seeing as how she’s played such unique characters in the past, we can only imagine what that role is. For now, we’ll have to wait and see – but we wish all the best for Amala as she prepares to wow us all with her first Bollywood feature!
